Hi

I had no problem opening an account with Kasikorn Bank, think all I had to do was show a passport.

Mind you the savings rates out here are not very good!

And I opened an account with Bangkok bank. No questions asked. My wife did all the forms. (Thinks: Maybe that's why there's never any money in that account  confused1) Only show your passport like the tall bloke said.

Hi

Are you in the UK? If so open a flexaccount with Nationwide building Society.

You can then draw your money out of any ATM worldwide with no charges and for Thai Baht get a favourable rate. You can then pay the cash withdrawals into your new Thai a/c without incurring any banking charges.
