Is Antonio going?
No but i tried to go and was told no cheer are going.
Only 40 people are going and they are from within the club. buriram_united
AND I thought you were Newin's 'mouthpiece'!

Nookie - surely you mean "cod-piece"...
AND only last week you were telling me you'd mis-read Antonio for a long time & now you are 'bosom buddies"

Nookie, you need to change your bait - and your hearing aid.

What I said was,  he is a big fcuker and I would not want to get the wrong side of him ....  :)

Now that we are in the last 8 it would be nice if maybe a few interested people would like to go and support Buriram United in the away fixture of the next round Aug/Sep.
I have no idea of what country it will be in until the draw has been made, which will happen in June..
But i would be prepared to sort out all the paper work for people wishing to travel on this incredible journey with Buriram United.
If anyone is interested in this please add your name.
If there is any interest shown i will find out all the traveling requirements and visa documentation required.
Possible countries to visit.
China,Korea,Saudi Arabia,Japan,Qatar,Iran,U.A.E.
So come on and support Buriram in making history, and cheer them on to victory. buriram_united

Some people say that Newin and Karuna don't really care about the football at Buriram.

What do you think.

Newin wife is Karuna or maybe Garuna.

Most of the time the K is dropped to a G but not 100% sure in this case.

But i suppose you knew that anyway.

GU 12 means the supporters are considered to be a twelfth man during a match.

In nerve shredding tension, Buriram United made it to the quarter finals of the AFC Champions League with a show of dogged determination and no little skill.
Bunyodkor started brightly with a corner in the first minute at their magnificent new, but less than half full, stadium but Suriya had a sharp counter attack chance two minutes later although he was correctly flagged offside. Buriram set up with an essentially five man defensive line, looking to weather any early storm and ratchet up the pressure to score on the home side.
Watched by both Mister and Mrs Newin Chidchop from the bench, Buriram saw out the first ten minutes without any scares, showing good physicality and high tempo against an ageing team. Buriram were clearly here to press and probe at every opportunity. Suriya was lucky not to get a yellow card on Juraev after nine minutes for a crude challenge, as was Teerathorn soon after, but the Thai side were clearly not overawed.
A pattern was beginning to form after fifteen minutes of calm Thai pressure and excellent shape, whilst the home side tried to wrestle the initiate away from Buriram. A stylish run from Ibanez from deep after nineteen minutes was blazed over before Theerathon was the first player to be booked for a pointless handball that could come back to haunt him.
Buriram were very lucky after twenty one minutes when a free kick was swung into the Thai box and clearly punched by Jirawat in a moment of absolute madness. The first shot with any power from the home side came from Pyshur from distance, but it was easily dealt with by Buriram’s stopper Siwarak. Surprisingly, after twenty seven minutes, Suriya was taken off for Gonzalez in a tactical substitution to make a formation that many felt the Thais should have started with. Hirano had a glorious chance after thirty three minutes following  Gonzalez’s robust run, but his weak effort was also taken from a needlessly offside position.
Bunyodkor should have taken the lead on forty minutes, but a smart cutback from the byline was miscued by Turaev and lacked any kind of confidence. The home side finished the half exerting increasing levels of pressure, but the Thais rode out the two minutes of injury time and went into the break  the happier side.
Both sides decided not to make any half time changes. Sivaruk started the half decisively by punching clear from an early free kick, but Hirano stupidly got booked soon after for chirping to the referee. The home side were trying to increase the tempo, something that could play into the Thais’ hands with their far superior pace all over the field. On forty nine minutes Bunyodkor had a goal disallowed from a clear offside, but the Thais had fallen asleep from the preceding corner and were lucky to escape.

Buriram were starting to lose  their structure under much more home side pressure and English coach Scott Cooper immediately responded by bringing on Adisak for Hirano after fifty three minutes to add more pace down the right flank. Bunyodkor responded by bringing on Jotiev for Juraev to strengthen their attacking options. After an hour, things were starting to heat up and the officials were just beginning to lose some authority. Soon after Toraev and Pyshur conspired to block each other out from a good right sided cross, then Buriram went close at the other end and Gonzalez was starting to demonise the home defence with his muscular and dynamic runs.
On sixty five minutes the home team took off Taran for Torsaev to bring some pace to the front line after the former had had a very flat game. The last throw of the dice for the home team came on seventy minutes when Tulaev came off for young Rakhmtulev. Then Buriram made their final change with Jirawat coming off for Anawun seconds later.
Buriram were being pushed deeper and didn’t feel confident to play on the counter attack, inviting the home team onto them with fifteen minutes left.
A glorious chance was missed on seventy six minutes by Morsaev when his poor chest control from a cross on the left gave weak contact and his shot blazed over. On seventy nine minutes Morsaev should have scored from a header, but brave defending by Chathum and poor composure meant the header failed to find its mark. Buriram came inches away on eighty minutes when great work down the right by Gonzalez gave Adisak a narrow chance and his effort went just wide. On eighty four minutes Karmov was disgracefully only booked for a shocking shoulder charge and Gonzalez was equally shockingly carded for complaining.
Five minutes were added on, but Buriram saw them our with ease. A night of history for the Thais.
