One of the all time great throw away lines from the movies.
Probably applies to this scenario. Real story from couple of days ago off the Panama coast. Support boat caught the drama on photos.
Apparently the skipper was "backing down" on the Marlin (as you do when big game fishing WTF ??) and he had his hands on the throttle when a big swell swamped the transom of the boat. The skipper lost his footing, and pushed the throttle accidently "full on" in reverse.
This buried the arse end of the boat into the next swell, from which there was no recovery.
The boat was lost. The Marlin lived to fight another day. (Presumably ?? he might still be hooked to the sunken boat ... in which case he's in deep shit)
