My wife is from a small village just North of NDD (5Km) on the road to Lahansai and I can confirm what everyone else say's - there is not a lot of action in NDD.

I guess you will be visiting Bangkok during your visit - and if you visit it before NDD just be aware that life there is different to Bangkok.

Several Things that you can do in NDD

1. Visit the open Air Market in the central street. Lot's of fresh food and meat on open display as can be testified by the aroma and flies :).
2. Visit the resevoir just south of town - they have a bar and restaurant and I guess you could most probably go fishing there too as they have huts by the lake.

3. Visit the 7/11 in the Petrol station at the North End of NDD - a great place to cool down. There is also a great Amazon Cafe shop which does Free Internet (I think).

4. Visit the Internet Cafe - this is on a side road somewhere near the large school on the West Side of NDD. Cheap as anything and they let you connect your PC to their network

I did once see a local taxi in NDD - I acutally took it from outside the U-Turn - the now closed Bar / restaurant / dance club.

If you do find anything more of interest to do when you are in NDD let me know as I generally end up playing snooker on the BIL's table (playing the local kids for 10bht a game and losing) :-).

If you have any specific questions about NDD then let me know and I'll try and answer.

Mike

Hi mate. I'm currently in the village half way between NDD and Packam, believe me there is not much to do, good food, friendly people, but ya have to get around and out to go for a social chat and drink.

Speros,

You must be on the 348 between NDD and Packham then ? Not very far from where we are. We must arrange to meet up one day for a beer or two when we are in Thailand at the same time.

Wow, good luck to you.

My best bit of adivce to you is get an International Diver's Permit (IDP) before you come, make sure it includes motorcycles.   Then have a scooter available to you while you in NDD.

Otherwise you will be dependent on her and her family to take you everywhere.  I know a Swede that had this issue, do not let it happen to you.

Yeah.... I dont even have a drivers licence in Norway, so that could get tricky  :P
But I thought you did not need a licence to drive a scooter?
Anyway..... I will have a beer for every meal, so driving is out of the question anyway  wackobar

Anybody knows if there is a golf course nearby?

As it stands for me I can only get over for 1 month a year and that has to be August - only time my wife can get off on holiday :-( - maybe in 7 years when we move to Thailand for good :-).
