The other old story that always grinds my gears that expats talk about is " it's always the farangs fault when there is an accident with a Thai " which is utter bollocks.In all the years I have lived in Thailand I have  never met anybody that has gone to court and paid for an accident when it wasn't their fault. Yes many people pay because they can't be bothered to go through the rigmarole of going down the Police station and sorting thing out but that's their choice !!!!

I have only witnessed one accident between a Farang and a Thai. I was behind a mate on his bike and a car pulled out in front of him. There was no major damage to the bike or him, but the driver of the car apologised immediately and paid for the Pharmacy Bill and a sum of money for the damage to the bike.

This means if you go out to dinner with someone older than you they will pay for it.

Oh bugger !! Not too many 60yo Thai women out there that appeal to me.

BTW ..if you want to know what corruption is really like ........then move to the UK

Average road tax....6500 Baht
Average fuel price ...65 Baht a litre
Speeding fine ...3000 baht,For a case referred to Court, the maximum is 50,000 baht , except for motorway offences, where the maximum is 125,000 baht

Makes guys whining about having to pay 200 baht look like right tw*ts

No way - I said 15 years ago when I left the UK that I was never going back to live there. But not because of the Road Tax etc, mainly due to the continuing demise of the social infrastructure and the breakdown of family values.
