I often wonder why preventive maintenance on almost anything appears totally unknown with Thai's ,Motor cycles and Cycles in particular were I see daily or should I write hear!, the screech of brakes (if they have any) and rusty chains and gears which have never seen a lubricant since they was bought new, plus spindles for pedals cos they have dropped off ,with no brakes whatsoever, how the kids stop is to drag their feet on the floor ,I bought my Mountain bike 7 years ago ,it is still as good as new even though I use it daily for exercise ,over the years I have had two new chains, two back gear sprockets, two sets of brake blocks front and rear and new gear cable and one brake cable ,plus quite a few new tyres ,I use a spray on lubricant similar to WD40 which costs about 70 baht a can and last about a year ,for the rural poor were every Baht means a lot I find it truly amazing why they do not take more care of their possessions
