Looks fantastic Alan and looking forward to the finished pictures. Is there any rain collection system planned as a roof area of this size would be very efficient?

Good idea Alan, we will be returning back to this house next mid year to do some landscaping and a Swimming pool and pool house\bar.

If they want to save the water we can build that to ,at the moment they have Village water and a 4 inch bore hole so there no short of water .

Thanks for you input guys .

I know many spanish houses have a cisterna or water tank under the house which stores water collected from the roof via gutters. They rely on this more than Asia due to its dryer climate. The advantage of having the tank under the house other than not taking up valuable space is it keeps the water at a cooler constant temperature and can help to cool the house too.

I saw this at a beautiful seafront villa for sale in Kho Chang. Designed by a Swede if I remember rightly. Good stuff!

This is a good idea -Not Cheap to build mind a bit like a swimming pool with a lid on the top under your house ,plus you still have to fit the house  footings in there somewhere .
As my water bill is only 250 baht a month no matter how much I use ,I would not spend 100.000,s on building a big tank , but they are a good idea in water shortage areas for sure !

Very nice Alan.

I made the mistake of having this posting opened when my TG saw it, now she wants one.  But she did say that your colors were not as bright as Thai's use.

The wood floor and ceiling are excellent.
