How much does Ireland pay towards Education i wonder.

Have to spend money on something. May as well spend it on a party.

And we have also just found an oil field and natural gas in irish coastal waters.  So don't worry about us, we'll be fine.  We just can't shout about it now, until the 'bailout' is all paid over to us.
In relation to eduation, you can't seriously say that English education on the whole (not just private/public schools) is better than in Ireland.  The spend on education in Ireland is more than in England, but we also teach more subjects with smaller class sizes and we call our "O/A-levels" the end of secondary school (high school), not college.  College is what happens after that.  But I understand why you would need to boost your 'college-going' numbers not to look bad internationally.

BTW, I have nothing against the Queen.  She went way up in my eyes following her visit to Ireland.  And that's saying a lot considering I would most likely have gladly shot her when I was younger in Ireland.  but times change ........

Tiocfaidh Ar La; you do realise that the Queen came to Ireland recently and WE paid for that.
