Mystery of 1.3 Million Baht of torn-up money solved by Chonburi Provincial Police
CHONBURI:-- A story that hit the headlines in the Thai national press recently, involving the discovery of 1.3 Million Baht’s worth of torn Thai currency, has now been solved.
A press conference was held at Chonburi Police Headquarters, led by Police Lieutenant General Panya, Commissioner of Region 2 Police who revealed that the money was destroyed by a 30 year old man who was jealous over the attention his father was giving to his other son. Both Sons were given money to open Gold Shops, by their father, Khun Worapong aged 60.
One Son opened a shop in Pattaya and the other, Khun Worapan in Chonburi District. He had stashed 1.3 Million Baht from the sale of Gold over the period of 2 years, without telling his Father and was afraid that he would take it and give it to his other son who Khun Worapan claims his Father prefers over him. For this reason, Khun Worapan decided to tear-up the money and place it in a bin close to the shop.
A national appeal was then made by Police and eventually the young man admitted to ownership of the money and presented himself to the Police with his Father at his side
