Thumbs up for True-H, 3G in BuriRam, Finally!
« on: January 08, 2012, 09:19:35 AM »
If you are living in Buriram or one of the developed parts of Buriram (Prakhon Chai, Nang Rong etc) you may consider getting a TrueMove-H simcard (now prepay also available). True-Cat 3G network is the fastest growing 3G in Thailand and now it can be used in Buriram. I attached a screenshot taken in Prakon Chai.

Unfortunately, Ban Kruat 3G is still under test (not sure, maybe I was getting signal from Lahan Sai) and not working. But its great to have 7Mbit internet with fast upload speeds (2.5 - 3 mbit) with you while you are in Town.

It's a good thing to be in the country side and enjoy the peaceful environment but still have the advantage of being connected to the world...  smilenod

1200 Baht a month seems expensive compared to say CAT or TOT but if the speeds are there it could well be worth paying the extra.
12call now has a 3G network that only charges about 850 baht a month but you are limited to the amount of fast speed downloading ( I think 2 GB ) ,after this is used you slip back to the old slow speed. :(

True 3G is not an ADSL replacement, there are traffic limitations. Its fast mobile internet to use out of home, especially when there are no free (or paid) wifi hotspots. AIS 3G is not operational in Isaan except Korat. True 3G coverage is simply amazing.

This seams to be the price list to look at if you have a lap top. Anyone know how far from the city you can use this sim-card? Will it work 6-7 km outside the city, in Ban Bua for instants?

Looks like it cover a major part of the surroundings. Anyone who's good in Thai and can tell what the 2 buttons under the map tells?

Base stations have coverage of 10 km, so roughly 10km from the nearest base station will get you 3G. However, you may need external antenna for better signal quality and faster speed. Check how far you are from base station via google maps.

Bought a 3G TRUE-mobile modem yesterday. Works quite good even here 6-7 km south of Buriram. Not full speed, but OK and much better than my AIS modem. In Buriram it's very fast.
First I just bought the SIM card, and used my AIS. Didn't work at all. Something with the frequency. So if you gonna buy this take the whole package.
So thank you muratremix for tell us about this thumbup

True map shows it in Surin, Prasat and Kap Choeng but getting any help from another source is next to impossible. Ill be back down in a few days and will find out myself.

Tot 3g has limited coverage in ban kruat, prakhon chai? And buriram city center. Good news for ban kruat residents. Coverage area is roughly 5km from base tower.
