Well i'm very disapointed, except for me & Tom a cyclist from down under, there were no more Farangs, surely there must be somemore cyclists somewhere out there.
About 10 of us started out Saturday at 6:30am, stopped in Prachonchai for breakfast where we also collected about 10 more Thai lads. So with about 20 riders but only TWO FARANGS we left Prachonchai & rode to Lan Sai where they stopped at the local Honda dealer who was providing refreshment. After a quick stop there we rode to Non Din Deang for launch at the side of the lake. After launch i found my hotel, left my bag, which was carried in one of the support cars, then carried on rideing for another 18klm, where everyone except me, turned off onto dirt roads. I was the only rider on a road bike so could not ride any further. I then road the 18klm back to the hotel. At the end of the day i had covered 140klm.
I wish i could have gone with everyone else, i was told afterwards, maybe another 30 riders joined them for a BQ & iss up. They must have enjoyed themselves, cause i was, as far as i know, the only one to ride back, either that or i was the only one crazy enough to ride back.
The whole ride was well organised, with cars in front & behind with flashing lights & at one stage we even had a police escort.
For the next ride i will buy myself a tent, with a airbed of coarse, & also a mountain bike which i will change on to for the off road section.
The next ride is sometime next month, & we are going to somewhere this side of Kao Yai, not sure excactly where yet, but the distance is approx 200klm one way. You don't need to ride all the way, you can go in car & ride just the off road section or whatever you feel up to. So come on you Farangs get riding
