By PAKAMARD JAICHALARD THE NATION ON SUNDAYPublished on March 8, 2009Ambassadors from 10 countries back Thailand's plan to propose Phu Phra Bat, Prasat Kao Panom Rung and Phimai historical parks as Unesco world-heritage sites, Culture Minister Teera Slukpetch said yesterday.During a cultural tour for the ambassadors to Sukhothai this weekend to promote tourism, Teera said they had told him they supported the proposal for Buri Ram's Muang Tam Sanctuary, Udon Thani's Phu Phra Bat, Buri Ram's Prasat Kao Panom Rung and Nakhon Ratchasima's Phimai.The proposal will be made at the World Heritage Committee's meeting in Spain next year.In related news, hundreds of tourists went to observe the direct sunset through all 15 windows of the Prasat Kao Panom Rung Sanctuary (from Friday until today) which takes place four times a year.Anyone who missed it can catch sunset from October 5-7 or sunrise from April 3-5 and September 8-10. Buri Ram will host the "Miracle of Panom Rung" with cultural shows from April 2-5.[attachment deleted by admin]
