New I.T plaza in Surin ,
« on: October 30, 2011, 06:58:00 AM »
The new I.T plaza in Surin will be located in the Petcaseim plaza second floor ,Its due to open in a couple of weeks - Its should be good this is what I have been told , there will be 3 or 4 big companies from Bangkok computer shops \ there will be a bunch of small vendors sell lots of bits and bobs plus computers \ all the phone shops from out side the plaza at the back will be moving up there too .There will also be a food court (there was one there before years ago) . Also a very good friend of mine Patrie the owner of the Swedish forum http://www.maipenrai.se/forum/ is opening a coffee shop up there, the coffee shop will be located next to the food court .They will be selling lots of drinks as well as fresh coffee and also bottled beers and snacks .
I was talking with Pat about a  Farang mid morning get together once the place is up and running if anyone is interested ? maybe some free coffee and sandwiches !!
I will keep you updated on the opening dates of the I.T plaza ... thumbup.. Great new for Surin and surrounding areas !!

I was just trying to get a few Farangs together both from Surin and Buriram in a nice environment ,I will be supplying
snacks free sandwiches and cup cakes , and Pat   is happy to supply free fresh coffee for everyone to sample .
It could be a great excuse for members of X-pats and Surin farang to meet up !
Also there is bottles of beer for sale if anyone feels the need  party12 .I think the plaza will be all up and running 100% in a couple more weeks ,I will keep you posted on this .Thanks guys .

Taken from a local post ....

The Coffee Club in Surin and the new Petchkasem IT Plaza
Hi guys,

OK, so this is whats happening...

All the holes-in-the-walls, all the floor-space, all the bigger "shops" have been rented out to non-Surin companies and has been so for over one month. (One small shop left to rent, in the far corner of the front side of the plaza)
The problem is that since most of the big companies are from BKK (and a few from Udon and Khon Kaen), they have trouble getting out from there due to the floods.

So the small companies will wait for the big companies to arrive and they will not arrive until the floods are gone.
And this might be a good thing, since the place is not 100% ready. Like for example the food court area is not ready yet, still tearing down stuff and it needs a whole lot more work, before it is ready, and this is where the CoffeeClub will be.

As for our coffee shop itself, we will have different coffees, tea, cocoa, hot, cold or shakes.
Baked products will be everything from homemade non-sweet blueberry and raspberry croissant-look-alike-thingys to normal sandwiches/toasts to waffles with ice cream.
The coffee is basically our own kind, roasted specifically for us. The beans come from northern Thailand where the coffee grows slower than in the southern parts, due to the temperature difference and has a lovely, smooth but distinct taste to it.

We will serve wine and whisky by the glass, water of course, softdrinks and more...

What else will we have...?
Free internet and we will also have tablets (flat minicomputers) laying around for any of our costomers to use, if you don´t bring your own iPad or similar.

The whole area is a non-smoking area, so smoking is done before or after a visit to the CoffeeClub :)

So when do we open...? Don´t really know, but we will have a preopening with free testing of the cooffees, teas and cocoas and possibly other drinks too, but I will let you know when that is.
My best guess would be in about 10-14 days at the earliest.

We think that the opportunity to have an 'informal get together' is a good idea, and a great way to support this new venture.

Whilst it is never easy to get Farangs from Buriram and Surin areas together we applaud the efforts of Alan and Pat to try to do so.

By way of support for the event we are happy to donate the following prize to a free entry draw for those attending on 25th March:-

2 tickets to Smile of Angkor buffet show in Siem Reap

1 litre bottle of Jamesons whiskey

1 litre bottle of Gordons Gin.

All prizes to be redeemed whilst on a tour of Siem Reap/Angkor Wat arranged by Prakhonchai Expat Services during 2012

Almost Alan (but not quite).

This prize (worth circa 3,000 Baht) is available for the winner if they attend one of our tours i.e. they book a tour and we load them up with booze and get them to the Smile of Angkor show. Saves them over $100 at face value  party4

just a thought re transport for anyone wanting to go to Surin:-

I doubt that we will get the numbers from Prakhonchai/Buriram, but if, say , 10 people were interested in going we could get a VIP minibus for about 200 Baht or so a head.

As I said, I doubt the numbers will make it viable but please PM me if you are interested.
