Buri Ram to rush to pay agriculturists for compensation

Northeastern Buri Ram province has urgently rushed to pay compensation for agriculturists who have been affected by drought in their paddy fields and agricultural plants being damaged in the province's six districts and over 25,000 people.

The damages were worth more than 90 million baht. The province instructed officials to examine each of agriculturists who sought compensation to prevent possible corruption.

Buri Ram province handed out documents of compensation today (February 22) to aid agriculturists who have been affected by drought disaster in 2007.

The agriculturists have to bring the documents to seek compensation at the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) after the government has endorsed 90 million baht budget for the compensation.
