Sexy Signs and hostesses on Walking Street causing concern

One of the main tourist attractions here in Pattaya is Walking Street which is known, around the world, for being an area full of bars, restaurants and nightclubs. The fight for customers is more intense than ever before and as we enter the low season months some of the adult bars are using explicit signs and hostesses wearing outfits that leave little to the imagination to lure customers. There are some here in Pattaya who are not happy with the risqué activities occurring on the world famous street and want something done about it. One of those is Khun Nawalat, the Sister of Deputy Mayor, Khun Wirawat who claims that families who are coming to Pattaya on holiday are taking offence to the signs and hostesses and Thai culture dictates that this should stop. Bar owners on the street should be aware that this story has gone nationwide which could force local authorities to clear this problem as soon as possible.

I was in Pattaya in April for a few days, I was amazed at the number of foreign women, couples, and families there.  I expect that Pattaya as the monger capital of Thailand will start changing its image as it is tried to be projected as "family fiendly".

Pattaya has changed a lot over the years but remained a great place to hang out and have a great time for few days to one week max only, only this way you leave the place with good taste and want to go back again.
IMHO, If you stay longer in Pattaya you start to see the dirt, poverty, miserably and other not so beautiful side of the city.

Unfortunately with every repeat visit you start where you left off.

I'm off to Siem reap again next month with CoCo. May be touristy, but is not the cesspit Pattaya is.

Cleaning up the streets is not what needs to be done to attract family tourists...

You need to clean the water in the Gulf of Thailand....

You need to clean the water in the Gulf of Thailand....

I think Pattaya has turned the clock forward too far.

Rid the streets of whores, and all the other lowlifes, plus cleaning up the sea, will not really change anything. Pattaya has become overpriced, double pricing prevails, transport is awful, the roads dangerous, crimerate is high and footpaths non-existant. This is hardly the place for families.
