I have been in Thailand almost 25 years, and during that time have seen that most collected donations fail to reach the victims. They pass through so many channels, each creaming off a bit.  There was Chumphon around 18 years ago, the tsunami in the south, and various others where reports years later state that aid was never received.

If anyone wants to help disaster victims I am afraid it is necessary to do it in person.
