The construction plans for Bangkok's Super Skywalk project, which will create an elevated walk way through different zones of the city has been delayed.
An executive from Krungthep Thanakom or KT, Amorn Kitchawengkul gave an overview about the Bangkok Super Skywalk project saying that the elevated walk way is divided into six different zones and starts with commercial zones, economic zones, residential zones, combined zones, and parks.
The residential zones will be around the Sukhumvit and Ploenchit areas where condominiums are concentrated.
He said each of the different zones will be managed differently as they have their own unique characteristics.
For instance, the residential zone will consist of many group activities and events, while the economic zone will be organized to fulfill the needs of the modern lifestyle and will have a large LCD screen displaying stock prices and exchange rates.
However, Amorn said the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has not signed any official contracts to hire KT for the planned construction.
As such, the company cannot proceed with the construction process, which highly impacts their cost of production.
KT has given out loans worth 3 billion baht with an interest rate of 4.7 percent per year.
If the projects are delayed any further, the company will face higher interest rates.
Amorn has confirmed that despite the delays, the company has vowed to complete the Sukhumvit skywalk by the end of December this year.
