The Office of the Buri Ram Employment Service says it has not received any information about 200 Buri Ram locals who are working in Japan since the earthquake and tsunami hit the country.
Tieng Dokkratok, Buri Ram Employment Service labor specialist, said the office's database showed more than 200 Buri Ram residents working or interning in Japan.
These 200 workers are scattered all across the country and there has been no information on their current whereabouts.
Initially, the office has not been contacted by relatives requesting assistance in locating their loved ones in Japan, while there have also been no reports on the loss of life or injuries of Thais residing in Japan.
The office urges family members or relatives to contact it for any help.
Information the office receives will be sent to the Employment Department and the Labor Ministry for any further action needed.
