2 killed, 4 injured in heist of 2 gold shops

Two were killed and four others injured when seven robbers staged a robbery of two adjacent gold shops Monday morning.
The robbers made off with an unknown number of gold ornaments after killing a shop owner and a security officer and injuring another shop owner and the two owners' relatives.
The robbery took place at 9:20 am in the downtown of Sungai Kolok district.
Wichai Srithaksinakhun, the owner of the Liew-ah gold shop was killed at the scene along with Jitti Pluemjai, 34, the security officer of the shop.
Wichai's wife, Malee Srithaksinakhun, and Wichai's brother, Wichit Srithaksinakhun, were seriously injured by gunshots.
Chainarong Papake, the owner of the adjacent Yongtun gold shop and his relative, Wutthikorn Jittanachote, were also seriously injured.
Witnesses told police that the seven robbers arrived in a Mazda car and rushed out of the car and split into two groups.
The first group fired at the security officer in front of Liew-ah shop and then fired at Wichai and they also took Wichai's .38 revolver.
The second group of robbers fired at the second gold shop and injured the owner and relative.
The robbers then made off in the car.
