I can't understand why everything has to become a battle ground? Everything is good if used in moderation and same goes with white bread too. I understand the industrialisation and profit making has reduced the standards of the bread being produced from factories, but I think comparing it to cigarettes would be going too far. Now that people have realised and woken upto the facts, new generation of bread makers and local deli are improving on it and are producing good stuff and nookie gets his bread from a smal bakery where bread is of excellent quality.
It is great that people are trying to help out farangs' needs. At the same time if someone wants really fresh, then a bread maker can also be used and you won't need an oven.
I also like the sound bread cooked in the charcoal oven. It's pretty easy to make an oven for backyard. You can also make pizzas and all sorts of food in this oven. May be someone should give it a try. Couple of people can buy a sack of flour from good shop (even from Pattaya) and can bake bread to share around. Smell of freshly baked bread served with some good olive oil and dukkah always hits a spot with good bear.
