Pills in plastic bags. safe or not?

I have noticed over the years living here that its very common that pharmacies are selling pills tablets in bags, some of them are using their hands to put the pills into the bag before handing it over to you.
I have always been cautious about it and always buying in small packed packages, sometimes it cost me double or even triple the price. 
Am I being too cautious and there is no real risk in buying it in bags?

I think you are being more than cautious,every Thai & Farang I know seem to have pills in plastic bags,,,,,I don't see them dropping dead in the street either!!!
