Non imm O double entry.
« on: November 03, 2010, 02:57:06 PM »
I read some where of a man who applied and was given a double entry non immigrant O visa at Sananaket.  He was married and didn't have to show that he had sufficient funds in the bank.
I have a 2 year old son though I'm not married, I managed to get a non imm visa single entry in Penang on producing my sons birth cirtificate and my bank book (with about 20000Baht to show in it). Does anyone know if I'll be able to get a double entry non imm in Savanaket. winkbar

you mean savannakhet that is in Laos.

showing 20,000 baht in Thai bank will not help you to get any non immigrant visa.

maybe you mean to say tourist visa??

If you don't have money maybe you should apply for a non immigrant visa in your country, this way you will not have to show money at all.

savannakhet Laos Thai consulate will help you to get tourist visa, single/double??

cheers.

Thanks for that, I live near Buri ram. As I said they asked for the birth certificate and then my bank book even though I only had 20,000 in it. At first they asked for a copy of my girlfriends ID (Mother of my child) but I didn't have that. I was wondering whether theyed except the same in Savannakhet or Vientiane.

Ok, I think your best option is to make new 1 year non immigrant visa '0'/marriage.
It can be done in your country without the need to show money/income.

But you didn't really gave us enough details that we can help you....
For how long do you want to stay in Thailand?
Do you want an extention of 3-6 months? 1 year?

I have stayed in Thailand almost permanently for the last 21 years and as you know the government is making it more difficult with each year.
At the end of the day it looks like I'll have to go for a double entry tourist visa again in Vientiane. I'll be in touch with the Buriram visa run service closer to the date. 25th od this month.

Thanks again

Whilst I am on the computer I just had a look at this thread from Thai visa. It applies to me and states I can get a 2 month extension of stay from my non imm O visa, and I am also legible for a 3 month non O from Vientiane but multiple entry. All I need is a my sons birth certificate, copy of my girlfriends ID and preferably a letter from her.

Savannakhet is nearer and easier to get to from Buriram.

It will take between 1-3 days Maximum, depend on arrival timing and Thai consulate schedule in Laos  (Which we check before departure).

Am i right in thinking if i was to book with you and fix a date i could get some people to share the cost say 4 total will this be 2500 each including hotel?
At the moment i can't justify spending that much money on a solo trip so if anyone wishes to share that would be great?

Many thanks

Yes, can share the cost with other people, but not the hotel cost.
We are covering the cost of Hotel for 1 Room only (Can bring your partner/girlfriend/wife).

If you don't find joiners or want to save money you can do it:

Take the bus going from Buriram to Mukdahan.
Than take a bus to the Savannakhet,Laos border.
Cross the border, take the bus to Savannakhet bus station than a Taxi to hotel.
Thai consulate, Apply visa, Back to the hotel.
The morning later back to the Thai consulate to pick up your passport with the visa and back to the border and Buriram in the same way.

Its a question of time and comfort. sawadi

Some things have changed.

You now use the same bus from Mukdahan to Savannaket. It stops on the Thai side of the bridge. You get off and get stamped out of Thailand. Get back on the bus and it takes you to the Laos side. You get off and at the first window you get a Laos visa(1500baht). Move on to the next window and get stamped in to Laos (40 baht).Get back on the bus and it will take you all the way to the bus station.

Take a Tuk Tuk to the consulate. Hand in all forms. You will receive a queue number. This number will be used to collect the passport the next day. You cannot collect your passport before 2pm. You will also have to wait for your number to be called. It is no longer first come first served.

If you get out of the consulate before 3pm you will have time to do all of the above in reverse and have enough time to get the 5pm bus from Mukdahan to Buriram and be back in Buriram at about 11:30pm.

If you want to do this in 2 days then you will have to get the Buriram to Mukdaharn bus from Buriram bus station at 2:30am in order to get you to the border an on to the Consulate before the 12:00 dead line for handing in applications.
