Monk’s at East Pattaya temple fight over accusations of stolen money from donation box
A fight between two monks took place at the Sutawat Temple in Soi Neun Plub Wan in East Pattaya late on Sunday Night which soon turned into a 6 on 1 brawl. Pra Samreun aged 48 came off the worse and spoke to us after he reported the incident to Police.
The suspected attacker is Pra Mondree who had accused Pra Samreun of stealing money from a donation box.
Other monks heard about the accusations and discounted them. Pra Samreun approached Pra Mondree and reportedly slapped his face. Pra Mondree gathered a group of 6 monks who proceeded to assault Pra Samreun close to a toilet block inside the temple grounds.
The Head Monk at the temple is currently investigating the case further and he will decide who is right or wrong and will likely order the offending monks to leave the monkhood, at which point the Police will intervene.
