'OTOP' Fair Tawikit supercenter Buriram city Thailand

There will be a big fair in the parking lot of "Tawikit" supercenter (Jira road).
Many kind of handmade products,silk,cosmetic products, foods, including exhibition of photos and more..

At Taweekit Supercenter, Muang district, Buriram Province.

OTOP ( One Tambon One Product ) seems to be a good idea when the local community club together to make a product to export to other area's and fair's across Thailand  ..http://www.thai-otop-city.com

Not such a good idea,when you have 20-30 shops all selling the same thing in one area or 50-60 people along the road all trying to sell you rice in a stick ,Kites or the same type of fruit.

I went there today, lots of good products, some Hippie clothes and shoes they claim its from leather and I tried, very comfortable and at affordable prices as well.
Adding to the added value it is help for the villagers I think its good to make some shopping there.
Great wooden stuff for home decoration, Silk, Natural Jewelries and much more Most at affordable prices for its quality.

Read the wikipedia link above, it is mainly handmade products made in villages participating in the OTOP program. It is very good thing for many of the villages around Thailand, giving them employment and income. Many of the products are in reasonable-good quality and you  get an extra value for helping the local Thai people working to do these products, many of them are old and some with disabilities so its a great thing to give a hand and support by buying these products if needed.

They look real! the small ones 6500~ Baht, Big one 65,000~ Baht.
