About grass seed

I turned the soil in my garden and prepped it to be seeded. Then I found out you cannot buy grass seed in Thailand. Apparently, there is a protected monopoly on sod. I just finished sodding my lawn and it is a disaster. The sod does not come rolled, it comes in 1 meter X 1/2 meter strips that are folded backwards in thirds so that the dirt faces dirt for 2/3 of each strip. And, since it is stacked, once you get below the third level the weight of the upper tiles presses the two levels of dirt facing each other into one level of glob with grass and roots on both sides making them nearly impossible to separate. Also, each level of dirt is about half the thickness it should be. It seems that sod nurseries are running low on soil.

So, why am I boring you with tales of misery? I know that other people in the area are contemplating building or refurbishing a lawn. Today I ran across a Thaivisa ad that says a farang in Chiang Mai had some Blue Grass seed left over that he had brought from home. So, I thought I'd pass it on.
