Jok (Thai rice soup) โจ๊ก

Jok (Thai rice soup) โจ๊ก
(As opposite to "Katom", "Jok" is thicker rice soup).

I have just tried "Jok" soup in a small Thai shop on Thanni Road, nice soup, with ginger, egg, some pork meat inside. nice and healthy for those of you who like soups I recommend as its clean and tasty.
25 Baht. Full options. (pork+egg inside).

Ask your girlfriend/wife, she'll know, at first it might look like not too inviting (I called it "jail food" at first  happy1), but for some reason it comes as good combination for a light meal.
Its not for everyone, thats for sure.. spiral

Try.  broccoli1

I often eat this for breakfast in Thailand, tastes good and doesn't fill you up too much.

meat is good but sometimes you just want to fill the stomach for a budget price, and if the wify is eating it, I eat also, good before after or between beers.  thumbup

More often than not, kow tom and jok are looked upon as comfort food....also akin to the "chicken soup" cure for when you're under the weather. Personally, I find kow tom/katom much more desirable as a texture..... footballscarf

I prefer "Kao Tom" ( Rice soup) because there are still pieces of rice, but "joke" is more like really soup.
Anyway, "joke" will be my 2nd choice.
