Dutch National Pays Huge Ransom In Pattaya Kidnapping



A Dutch national reported to the Pattaya police on Friday after allegedly being kidnapped and held for a 90,000 Euro ransom by a former friend from Poland.


Pattaya, the 16th of April 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 3:30am on Friday, police lieutenant Colonel Phatsa Detphakkul (Pattaya Police Investigator) received notification from a Dutch national, Mr. William Peter Alexander [41], regarding his alleged kidnapping by a former friend and Polish citizen.

Mr. Alexander reported to police explaining that he had been kidnapped and held for ransom by Mr. Robert Stirring [36] from Poland along with two other unknown foreign men. Allegedly whilst eating at the Royal Garden Plaza McDonalds on Pattaya Beach Road, Mr. Alexander was approached by Mr. Stirring who was offering to repay some money that he owed. Following Mr. Stirring to his car, parked in front of the Welcome Plaza on Pattaya 2nd Road, Mr. Alexander was accosted and bundled into the car by two armed foreign men before being blindfolded, gagged and driven to an unknown location.

Arriving at the location, Mr. Stirring demanded Mr. Alexander pay the three men a total of 90,000 Euro or be killed. Mr. Alexander informed police that he was allowed to contact relatives in Holland who had subsequently transferred the requested amount  of money to an unidentified bank account in the Netherlands. The three men, fortunately for Mr. Alexander, released him at which point he immediately went to police.

Police investigations, led by Colonel Natthawut Suwanla-ong (Pattaya Police Superintendant) managed to uncover the identities of the two armed kidnappers, Mr. Frantisek Janku [37] and Mr. Daniel Motycka [36] both from the Czech Republic. A special taskforce was established to apprehend the two dangerous men, successfully arresting the pair whilst walking in Pratamnak Soi 4 at 8:00am on Friday. Mr. Alexander has subsequently identified the two suspects as the men that had kidnapped him at gunpoint on the 12th.

Police interrogated the two offenders who admitted to the crime before taking the officers to the 3-storey house where they had held Mr. Alexander awaiting the transfer of the money. Investigations are now underway to apprehend Mr. Stirring, the orchestrator of the group’s criminal activities.
