Local construction-material firms yesterday showed off their innovative products at the 24th Asean Building-Technology Exposition, or Architect '10, which opened at Impact Muang Thong Thani.

The Association of Siamese Architects and Tiff International is sponsoring the event, which runs until next Wednesday.

The theme of the expo is "Think Equilibrium".

The Siam Cement Group (SCG) has set up a pavilion under the theme of "SCG Innovative Solutions" to introduce its latest products.

SCG Distribution managing director Kajorndej Saengsuphan said the pavilion featured three zones: Home Solutions, Eco Solutions and Housing-Technology Solutions.

Home Solutions will showcase kitchen, roofing, ceiling/wall, surface, bathroom and landscaping innovations.

Eco Solutions will feature such products as Excella-brand tiles, grass carpets, porous blocks and porous concrete.

Housing-Technology Solutions will introduce Modular home systems.

Eighteen home-builders have teamed up to create the Home Builder @ Architect '10 pavilion. It features more than 1,000 new housing designs and offers discounts of up to Bt100,000 for customers signing a contract at the event and registering at the Home Builder Association (HBA) website, www.hba.com.

Visitors can also enjoy a home clinic and a legal corner at the pavilion, said HBA senior director Pramote Teerakul.

Other construction-material firms on hand include TOA, Viva, QCon, Bezen and Sanmart.

The organiser expects 300,000 visitors over the course of the six-day event.
