Forty Injured In Series Of Bangkok Blasts At least 50 people are reported to have been injured after a series of explosions in the business district of Bangkok.
The Thai capital was hit by at least three blasts, witnesses told the Reuters news agency.
Two ambulances were seen arriving at the scene following the explosions.
The Associated Press reported a fourth blast also hit the Thai capital, describing all the blasts as small.
The agency said some of the blasts struck the city's elevated Sky Train.
The explosions occurred close to a standoff between protesters and security forces, reports said, in an area full of banks, office towers and hotels.
Television images showed some injured people being carried from the area on stretchers.
Hundreds of fully armed troops have poured into the area since Monday to keep anti-government protesters at a nearby rally site from marching into the business district.
