This is my first post to Buriram expats. Only found out about it yesterday. Noticed a few familiar names from Thai Visa. All this talk about not being able to find the right food got me thinking.

I enjoy some of the finer accompaniments to food such as Picallili, branston "style" pickle, pickled onions(shallots really),barbecue sauce, tartar sauce, marmalade to name a few. Where to get such things at a reasonable price??? I make it myself. Would be happy to supply others at reasonable cost if interested.

Let me know.

Wow. This forum is so much more relaxed than Thai Visa. Can't even mention the word "sell" on there. Thanks for that. I will get onto it. I usually only make enough for personnal consumption. I will make some more stuff and take some photos. Quite sure you don't want a picture of a half empty jar of picallili on the forum. How about a picture of my 6 year old daughter(one reason why the jar is half empty) smiling with yellow lips? Back soon.

Wellcome Starman.

I'm up for some Picallilli. Await details

A friend brought me a dozen jars of Branston 6 years ago. Just finishing off the last one! Well past it's sell by date but still perfect.

Ok, Its have been long time since we post here some recommendations and Tips on what and where to get good stuff in our local supermarkets in Buriram.

 hungry1

1) Galric Butter (Frozen) in "Makro" which I happan to taste only lately.. and its really tastey and cost around 60-70 Baht for a big pack of 250G.
Find it in the frozen frindge area in "Makro" supermarket.

2) "Makro" bread.(Big size) yes..you'll be surprised how good it is for its price (29 Baht), it taste nothing like the 7-eleven bread, and if you're lucky you can catch it when its hot just out of the oven.
Find it in the Bakery area in "Makro" supermarket.

Your tips please.  loco  wave1

Makro also bake a very good large wholemeal loaf,,,,,,,37 baht  BUT for some reason I've never seen it in the Buriram branch....maybe not enough demand.
But I regularly get 6 when I'm in the Korat branch,,,It freezes very well too.

Makro bread is very good, we use a loaf a day. It freezes well and has a good shelf life. At 29 baht it is good value - wish we had a Makro in Prakhon Chai.

Garlic butter from Muang Pizza is also very good.

PESTO in "Tuweekit" mall is very good. however abit pricy. to make a pesto is so easy but we lazy.  party4

A very good selection of frozen meat in "Makro".

I like Makro, it is such a nice place to shopping for these kind of things for the house and kitchen , you can really find almost anything you would like to have in the fridge at home.
but only one problem there........................ THE SMELL !  brick1
