Resident letter for who? For what reason?

Explain yourself better. Please put some effort to write more when posting.

We're here to help.

If you mean for a foreigner, you should talk with your embassy in Bangkok and they can issue a "resident letter" saying you have a permanent address in Thailand.

Hi Brian &  welcome1

If your talking about a Residence Letter to prove where your living, Kap Cheung Immigration Office provide them free of charge(I always give them a small tip though). You will need to take your passport and if you are living in your wives house, take her too plus her ID card and Tabien Baan(house Book). If in rented accomodation, I would assume your rental agreement plus copy Tabien Baan, but i am not 100% sure about that option.

Half way between Buriram and Kap Cheung(highway 214) is Gary's Bar&Restaurant,Presat. As a customer, I'd highly recommend the Ferang Food & Minimart.

I think its about 50k via Presat (Highway 24 then 214)although not sure if there are any shortcuts through the countryside/Ban Kruat

Went for my Letter of Residence on Monday to Chok Chai...Nice little bus ride....Went in with all the paperwork application was already filled out before.....very nice lady at the information desk did a quick check....got a number..another nice lady looked it over again, said everything is good....then it was getting busy there.....she told me I could get it the same day but not until later in the day...or come back tomorrow...she said we could mail it to you if you like for 50 baht...no problem for me my licence runs out on the 29th....when will I get it we mail tomorrow...get next day....mailman just got here at 12:30 Wednesday with my mail...piece of cake.....

Wish the mail was that quick in Canada...

By the way yes there was a 500 baht fee for the letter and 50 baht for mailing...worked great for me...

They were very nice and polite at the immagration and nice to look at also.....

By licence do you mean driving licence?

I got my letter from Buriram Police Station (June 2009).Free except 100 baht for "photocopies and Coffees". Why is everyone talking about Immigration?

Sorry. Bit confused.
