I told my friends in Europe about your job and they were jealous.

I always wonder when people use the word "jealous".

We all have choices in life. We choose our paths. Some of my old friends in UK say things like " oh I'd love to live there" or " looks like you're living the life". My reply, "you have a choice". "You can always do the same"

What's the point in sitting about being jealous? Get off your a$#es and do something about it.

They DO!

But both of them work and when they saw the pictures posted they said they always wanted to go there (Alaska that is) but never could because of time constraints!

So that is why they said jealous.

It's a small world these days. The past 2 years apart,international travel is fast and efficient. Some might say easy. One should make time to see what one wants to see before it's too late. I've, for the most part, always been to where I want to go. I have a couple of other places on my bucket list, a few south and central American countries. I don't feel jealous when I see our hear of others who have been there. It just gives me a reminder. When international travel and subsequent return to Thailand becomes smoother I'll be online taking a look at options. I certainly won't be looking at other people's photos, dwelling of what could have been.

I agree Gerry. I once fell out with a mate because over this. I'd returned from a great holiday and shared some photos. One mate was saying things like " you're so lucky" or "how the other half live" and " we're so jealous". I pointed out that I had worked hard, saved hard, booked time off work, booked the trip and that was it. No luck involved. He didn't like it when I pointed out he could do the same if he really wanted too. He had the money but would rather spend it down the pub, on expensive carpets, kitchens and bathrooms.

Anyhow, I'm working 7 days a week 10 hours a day. I've been onboard for 12 weeks and still not been ashore but planing to go for a walk in Seattle this Saturday and maybe a beer at Pike Brewing Company

I've been fortunate in experiencing several cruises; best one of all was Alaskan out of Vancouver.  Sadly, it was only 7 days.  One other related comment; every cruise we went on was well worth every penny.  No other vacation ever compared.
