Annual meteor shower, ?Perseid?, will be visible with the naked eye across the skies of Thailand tonightA Perseid meteor shower, the so-called ?Mother?s Day meteor shower?, will be visible to the naked eye around 11:00 PM. of August 12th through to the dawn of the 13th, according to the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT).
The meteor showers are expected to reach their peak rate of 110 meteors per hour at around 2:00 AM. on August 13th. Stargazers are recommended to watch the phenomenon from a dark location in the Northeast. A location far away from cities with dark and open sky without moonlight is preferable.
According to NARIT, the best way to observe meteor showers is to lie down and watch them with the naked eye. Viewers can appreciate the beauty of the shooting stars flying all over the country if there is no rain.
Perseids meteor showers are the second brightest of meteor showers that can be annually observed between July 17th and August 24th. They are space debris from the comet Swift-Tuttle left in orbit. When the Earth orbits through the dusty area, it attracts this debris into the atmosphere and causes it to burn and create in the sky.
