Mr. Bob retires for medical reasons from Ruangsangthai
« on: April 26, 2021, 03:46:22 PM »
This is Mr. Bob who has had the honor to help customers for the past 80 months at Ruangsangthai Home Builders merchants store in Buriram. Mr. Pichai took a chance in July 2014 and went through great expense to hire a "foreigner" legally with a work permit and work visa. He was sharp enough to hire bright bi-lingual assistants to allow me to help expat customers. I've had the privilege to meet several hundred expats who all share the same goal of living in a proper home and getting things fixed with positive results. Mr. Moses Lopez will succeed me in the Foreign Sales Department and the direct phone number is 061-028-9292.  His direct email is buriramruangsangthai@gmail.com  I enjoyed the challenge of working 6 days a week and took zero holidays for the past 80 months. But Exostosis and arthritis finally turned into pain. I've been otherwise blessed healthwise, and I need to rest and get medical treatment to solve this issue. I won't miss that 5:30am alarm clock. I am confident that Mr. Moses, Miss Jaew and Miss Biew will continue to give customers the best service for any tool, water pump, lawnmower purchase or repair in Buriram. The store is open 7 days a week and I certainly will make Ruangsangthai my first or last stop for home building materials and tools in Buriram.

Dear Mr. Bob, I am very sorry to hear about you medical problems.

During the 80 months you have served your company I met you a couple of times. Although being a very modest customer I have always appreciated that you made time for me. Not only to advise me on my purchases but also some time for general talk.

I had deep respect for the way you were running the family owned Ruangsangthai Home Builders merchants shop. You have established something great and have something to be proud of.

I hope that your medical condition does not hamper your future life too much and I also hope that you will have a long and happy time to go.

I wish mr. Moses Lopez good luck in his new position in the Foreign Sales Department.

Hi Bob
Long time no see. I hope you have (another) happy retirement and best of luck with your health issues.

Dave.

Many thanks Bob for your service at Rungsangthai. I hope you are able to get on top of your medical conditions. Unwanted bone growth,  developing bone spurs is absolutely painful.  I pray that you will come good ASAP and that your retirement will be long and pain free. God bless.
Regards

Hi Bob, had the pleasure of meeting you several times at the store. Always helpful and in good spirits. As others have said, good luck with the health issues and I hope you have many good years left.

Sorry to hear about your health issues Bob , but you can try to take it a bit slower now at least , Im going to miss going to Rungsangthai to buy a nut and bolt and come back out to the car loading up a shopping cart full of things and thinking what just happened? then on the way home remembering that I forgot to buy that nut and bolt. Hope to catch up with you in the near future Ol Mate.

He tried to over sell to me. That was the one and only time I ever went there.

Bob occasionally tried to guide me towards more expensive stuff (ie away from Thai c**p) and although he didn't always succeed, I was happy with his guidance. Cheap grinder: kaput in 3 months. Expensive drill: best drill I've ever had.
I suppose some people prefer going to Thaiwatsadu where the guys evidently just want you to go away (although two can play at that game).

I don't wish to get into a peeing competition here but I have found staff at Thaiwatsadu and Global to be good. One just has to speak a little Thai or take a Thai speaker with you. I have, on occasion, asked them to leave me to look at things alone. That is maybe why they back off. Better to have to call them than have them following you.

Thanks for the kind comments. I have been able to visit several hospitals have my Doctors have given me advice based on the results of CT Scan and MRI procedures. I am delighted to say that Mr. Les Ridd has been hired at Ruangsangthai to assist expats. Mr. Les has previous work experience in Thailand, and was in the building trades where he grew up in London. He should be on duty starting this coming Monday June 1st.
When I know what phone number and email he is using for customer service I'll be sure to post it. I certainly miss the opportunity to escape the village on a daily basis. Best Regards, Bob Manthey

Mr. Les Ridd starts on Tuesday June 1st at Ruangsangthai to assist customers. He is working in Moses Lopez "Foreign Sales" department.  Mr. Les is on Duty 6 days a week. 061-028-9292 is Foreign Sales telephone. He can give you his "line" contact, or his "What's App" contact when you meet him in the store.
